So...

Well, I made it into the program but have decided not to return next semester. I've been at this higher education thing for over 5 years now and want to get an idea of what's out there in the "real" world. I so loved working with all of you, I really do feel proud of my education and feel like I got my money's worth (or i guess i should say my parents'/the government's money's worth) and I am so glad i stumbled upon graphic design in my wanderings as a BA student. I have encountered so much genuine talent and passion for design at GSU and so many outstanding educators. It has been a pleasure knowing you all and hope to see you around campus sometime in the (near?) future.

FOAM!

i just picked my foam up today and it is freaking awesome! no worries about cutting straight or getting the right size, it's so easy. (i've got one unclaimed piece left, so get em while they're hot!)

specialty boards

i don't know if this is the best way to arrange them...i played with it forever and then just got tired of it. Does it need labels?

Catalogue

here's the catalogue as it is thus far. I'm still thinking about how i want to put the type in
...i'm definitely open to suggestions.

specialty items

here are my specialty items...i've decided i'm only really good at outdoor photography (sans flash) so i took these on my front porch. Here's the progression:

attention to program applicants!

I have a access to a uline account and found this foam that would be perfect for portfolios (under 24"x24") i want to get one (they're $19 per sheet) but they sell by the carton, so in this case it would be $102 to get this on my own. so if you're interested please let me know ASAP.

Question!

So, i'm doing a catalog for my final piece and i want to use that kind of magazine paper for it. Does anyone have an idea what kind of paper i could use or where to get it?

final boards for ads

i know these are old news, but i've just been trying to get all of my boards (and thoughts) together.

Final project ideas

Inspiring magazine/catalog images for my brochure piece. (i'm pretty sure i'm doing a catalog for this project if i can convince the Moxie lady to give me products to photographs.)

Sticker

here's just a little sticker for the specialty gift wrap i'm creating for moxie. I'm planning on this being used on the gift bags.

So these are variants on my original designs...not sure that they're any better or more applicable to my client.

Photography

check out some work (including mine) of your fellow GSU students on
Jyl Kelley's site. I really like her ideas and seeing the studio and digital work that people came up with in her classes.

sample

i finished the stamp and found a firm piece of foam (called a stamp pad) that's perfect for getting full coverage and contact. I'm also planning on making/stamping paper to cover a hat box with as another specialty wrapping piece.

Stampage!

so, i made my happy little moxie stamp...the question now is "will it work?"

Business Card, Letterhead & Envelope I

With this set I think I would use a craft-type paper for the envelope and i'm debating using brown paper or the white (see below). I have the business cards pictured as cut to show the bird's nest. The envelope shown is manilla-style but without a clasp .

I imagine that the bird's nest part will be cut out and the orange part around it will be a wrapped sticker.
